Southampton Match Preview

Manchester United will travel to Southampton on Sunday afternoon to try to win all 3 points from the premier League new boys. Southampton haven’t had the best return to the premier league, with no points picked up against Wigan or Manchester City. However United haven’t started the smoothest, with a loss against Everton and a tense 3-2 win against Fulham.

Southampton’s two new signing:Maya Yoshido and Emmanuel Mayuka are unlikely to feature for the Southern team. Nigel Adkin’s has no new injuries to deal with, but Chelsea trainee Jack Cork is a real doubt for the clash with United.

Manchester United have a strong side to pick from, even though Wayne Rooney (thigh) and Ashley Young (knee) are both out of Sunday’s game. Jonny Evans returns for the Red Devils, but Phil Jones (back) and Rio Ferdinand (groin) are major doubts, as well as Chris Smalling (foot) who remains on the sidelines.

Southampton are going to have to find something from this game because with games against  Arsenal and Everton coming up, the new boys don’t want to find themselves 6 points away from safety before they have even played 10 games in the premier league. New signing Gaston Ramirez will have to watch from the stands because his signing from Bologna was not done in time for him to play on Sunday.
