Top 5 Young Players To Look Out For This Season

With many young talents around the World, I have picked my Top 5 Players to look out for this season.

5- Christan Eriksen, Midfielder, Ajax

Christan Eriksen is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Europe. At only 20, Eriksen has 74 caps for Ajax and also has represented Denmark from U17’s level all the way up to the first team. In 2010 he was the youngest player at the World Cup in South Africa playing 2 games but Denmark failed to surpass the Group stages. Eriksen has attracted interest from several big clubs including Man United after Sir Alex Ferguson was impressed at the Danish playmaker’s performances against them in the Champions League. His ball control and vision are the top of his traits and seen as a possible long-term replacement for Paul Scholes. At only 20 years of age, Eriksen still has his best years ahead of him and I believe it won’t be long before we see him in the Premier League.

4- Isco, Midfielder, Malaga.

Francisco Roman Alarcon Suarez, aka Isco, is a highly rated attacking midfielder with great, quick feet and an eye for goal. Isco has already drawn comparisons with fellow Spanish heavyweights David Silva and Juan Mata thanks to his creative influence in midfield, quick feet and great passing vision. The 20 year old scored 5 goals and 4 assists in 25 games in his debut season for Malaga and attracted interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs. The Spaniard has represented his country from U16’s all the way up to U23 level. With Malaga struggling financially, Isco could be a bargain in the January transfer window and with the top teams interested; a move to a top club is definitely on the cards in the near future.

3- Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Winger, Arsenal.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is Arsenal’s and England’s rising star. At just 19 years of age, Chamberlain has already featured over 5 times for England and regularly for Arsenal. Chamberlain has earned many plaudits since his move to Arsenal from Southampton, former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie believes Chamberlain is the future of Arsenal and England. The 19-year-old is expected to be a key player for England in many years to come and the youngster appears set on becoming an Arsenal and England legend if he keeps on improving at such a pace. With lighting pace, skills and strength there is no reason why he can’t become one of the best

2- Xherdan Shaqiri, Midfielder, Bayern Munich.

Xherdan Shaqiri has been dubbed as one of Europe’s hottest prospects and the Bayern Munich star has certainly showed signs of his potential. Shaqiri has represented Switzerland 19 times at senior level and at only 20 years old he has so much more to offer. He started his career at FC Basel in a very successful spell winning three league titles and two domestic cups during his time with the Swiss giants. In 2012, Shaqiri moved to German giants Bayern Munich where he made an immediate impact scoring one goal and two assists in his first 4 games. The 20-year-old is certainly one to watch this season, in his Bundesliga debut season and with a lot of expectation on him, he has got something to prove.

1- Eden Hazard, Winger, Chelsea.

Eden Hazard has already showed the world what a fantastic player he really is. Hazard made his name at French club Lille where he had a very successful spell. The Belgian was named Ligue 1 player of the year for three consecutive years during his time at Lille and the 2011-12 season was Hazard’s most prolific. Scoring 20 goals and 15 assists, the 21-year-old attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea. On the 4th June 2012, Hazard signed for Chelsea and has made a remarkable impact ever since. In just 3 Premier League games, Eden Hazard has scored 1 goal and created 4 assists. With frightening pace, quick feet, and superb dribbling, Hazard has proved that he can play at the highest level and with such a great start to the season; he is certainly my one to watch. Expect so much more from the talented Belgium international.
